With apologies to Python (Monty) the Holy Grail that we seek is The Cup. These races are coming up fast, here is what you need to know:
Sept 24- Cruiser’s Cup! This one is for everyone- Social members and racing members alike. It will be a reverse start race, based on your boat’s rating. No spinnakers for this one and if you are new to racing or been at this for a while, this should be on your calendar. Be at Shark Park @ 9am to get your start time, and get your finish time to Flip Cooper. He is hosting this event and will met you at the Skipper’s Meeting. Win the Cup and have braggin’ rights for a whole year! Afterward Flip is hosting beer and brats at Shark Park and the winner’s award will be given at the Governor’s Cup awards ceremony the following Sunday, Oct 2.
Sept 30- Oct 2- 42nd Annual Governor’s Cup! The largest sailboat in Missouri! Notice of Race, schedule, and registration form are on the website. Back by popular demand is Vic Vaughn and Souled Out, the rocking band we had last year. I (we) strongly encourage you to get your registration in early, this really helps us get this thing planned and off the ground. Otherwise, registration will be on Friday afternoon/ evening.
Volunteer Opportunities! We could use some help on the Gov Cup Race Committee boat. This is an excellent way to view the races, help the club, and learn more about racing all at the same time! Please reply to this email if interested.
