The list of folks who are planning to attend the 49th Missouri Governor’s Cup Regatta is growing and the weather forecast has improved for the weekend and is likely to change daily. Be sure to attend the skipper’s meeting at 8:30am on Saturday morning and continue to stay informed by monitoring VHF channel 72 for buoy racers and 71 for cruiser/distance racers. It would be advisable to get a VHF radio to use this weekend. Bass Pro and Academy Sports and many other places have them and without it, you are deaf once you leave the dock. All competitors from both race courses should attend the skipper’s meeting at the tent on Saturday morning at 8:30am. The meeting will end promptly at 9:30. The latest sailing instructions will be printed off and the map of the distance race will be there for the taking. The lake is six feet low and exactly the level as last year at this time. Shallow areas will be noted on the map, so get one to study.
