Members of the Lake Stockton Yacht Club,

As the spring breeze whispers across the waters of Lake Stockton, it’s time to hoist our sails, polish our hulls, and prepare for another exciting season of adventure and fun on the lake. With great pleasure, we invite you to join us for Opening Day at the Lake Stockton Yacht Club on May 4th, marking the kickoff of another memorable sailing season.

Our Opening Day festivities will commence at 11:00 AM with a special blessing of the fleet conducted by the esteemed Barry Nelson. Let’s gather together to honor our vessels and the journeys they will carry us on throughout the season. This tradition binds us in spirit and sets a tone of reverence and respect for the water, the wind, and the vessels that navigate them.

Following the blessing, we will set sail on a thrilling 5-mile cruise race known as “The Shake Down Cruise.” This pursuit-style race will challenge our skills and test the mettle of our boats as we navigate the pristine waters of Lake Stockton. Utilizing the PHRF rating system, each boat will receive a unique start time, ensuring a fair and competitive event for all participants.

After the race, we’ll reconvene at Shark Park at 6:00 for a post-race celebration, where tales of triumph will flow as freely as the wind in our sails. Our after-party will transform into a festive Cinco de Mayo fiesta, complete with delicious Mexican cuisine, refreshing margaritas, and lively music to keep the festivities going well into the evening.

For those interested in joining the club, we’ll have a new membership talbe set up that will allow anyone interested in joining the club to find out more details. For those that just need to pay your dues for the year, we’ll have that available as well.

So mark your calendars, prepare your vessels, and get ready to embark on a season of unforgettable experiences. We can’t wait to see you all on Opening Day as we set sail into another exciting chapter of Lake Stockton Yacht Club history.
